2018 marks the 50th anniversary of Sam Rodgers Enterprises.
Few businesses can claim to be as truly family-operated as Sam Rodgers Homes. Florida grown and family run, it all began with Sam R. Rodgers. Within 10 years from graduating from the University of Florida, Sam along with his wife, Mary embarked on a new business venture, Sam Rodgers Enterprises, Inc. in 1968. Since then, Mary has worked alongside her husband as the company’s Secretary and Treasurer with his son, Richard Rodgers joining them full-time as Vice President upon graduating from Florida Southern College.

Simple Beginnings.
1968- In Lakeland, Florida Sam founded Sam Rodgers Enterprises to retail manufactured housing which was then referred to as mobile homes. The company in subsequent years was recognized as one of the top 10 retailers in Florida.
1971- Sam’s Leisure Lake Estates was developed as a mobile home subdivision in order that the homes sold by the company could be then placed in a master planned community with full amenities. This community was followed by five other rental communities and subdivisions in the Lakeland area.
Grand Achievements.
1988- After observing that several homebuilders in the Ocala-Leesburg area were having success in building retirement homes, Sam decided to develop Sandpiper Golf & Country Club in Lakeland and venture in to building homes on site rather than buying a factory built product. Sandpiper was an immediate success with 232 homes sold in the first year of the 1169 lots within this golf course and country club community with full amenities.
1989-1999 – Estates of Beacon Woods with 500 homes and Legacy of Leesburg with 999 homes followed using the same success formula: Quality Home Construction and a well planned community with amenities developed by Sam.
1994- Present- In Southwest Florida, Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club (1,325 homes), Greyhawk Landing and Greyhawk Landing West (1,271 homes) and Gran Paradiso (2,000 homes) were developed in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Today we still develop outstanding communities in which our beautiful semi-custom homes are built to the highest quality standards.
And Beyond …
2018 is our anniversary year and we have 2 new beautiful communities planned. Arbour Lake will be located in Sarasota and Grand Oaks will be located in Venice. Along with these communities, we are continuing to build our fine semi-custom homes in Greyhawk Landing West and Gran Paradiso.
