Sam Rodgers

Sam Rodgers founded the company in 1968, beginning a career in Florida homebuilding that has now spanned nearly six decades. What started in Lakeland grew from home sales into community development and construction, eventually bringing Sam Rodgers Homes to Southwest Florida and establishing the company throughout Sarasota, Bradenton and Venice.

Sam has always approached homebuilding with a long-term perspective. Rather than simply building houses, he focused on creating communities and homes designed around the people who would live in them. That philosophy shaped communities including Sandpiper Golf & Country Club, Pelican Pointe, GreyHawk Landing and Gran Paradiso, and continues to influence the company’s approach today.

From 1994 the work moved to south-west Florida: Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club (1,325 homes), GreyHawk Landing and GreyHawk Landing West (1,271) and Gran Paradiso (2,000). His son Richard joined full-time as Vice President straight out of Florida Southern College, and is the company's president today.

Nearly 60 years later, Sam remains an active part of the company that carries his name. His experience and perspective continue to shape the decisions made today, while the same principles established from the beginning — thoughtful development, quality construction and a personal approach to homebuilding — remain at the center of Sam Rodgers Homes.
